This short film is an attempt to create awareness about suicides by young men in India. It shows us, what happens when society does not listen to them.
Today, 19th November, is International Men’s Day. Today, we are supposed to either celebrate being a man or celebrate the #men in our life.
Since 2007, we started celebrating International Men’s Day in India and every year we did some or the event to observe it. In 2008, we did a bike & car rally, 2009 we had organised a discussion in Mysore University, 2010 we had organised a fun fest in a prominent mall in Bangalore and engaged around 800 people telling them about men’s day. This was repeated in 2012. 2013&14 we did art galleries about men’s day.
But now there are 2 distressing developments about men’s day that I am observing.

19th July 2005 – The Honorable Supreme Court of India passed a landmark judgement in which it said that “Misuse of Section 498A against men and their families unleashes a new form of Legal Terrorism against them”.
Not only did the Supreme Court acknowledge that the dowry law was being used to trap innocent men with false cases, a new coin was also termed for the same. And after that, various bloggers writing on men’s issues filed the internet with the phrase “Legal Terrorism”.
Today, 19th July 2017, 12 years hence, yet even in Section 498A, much hasn’t changed in India for men, let alone any other issues faced by men.
