Yellow journalism by Deccan Chronicle is spreading false alarm in the society. While the examples cited by the article may be true, it by no means stands justified to promote the ultra – constitutional Domestic Violence Act. International studies have proved worldwide that both men and women are equally prone to Domestic Violence and yet there is no law to protect men. And on top of that biased articles like these brainwash the society into believing women are victims and more and more anti – male laws are passed.
Repeated complaints of domestic violence being misused are received by Save Indian Family Foundation and its partner NGOs and then biased and articles based on concocted stories like these are used by radical feminists to promote the misuse and break relationships to encash them. Most of the times the Domestic Violence Act is used by urban rich educated women to grab their in – laws property and to squander money from their husbands in the name of marriage and this practice is fuelled by such articles. The Honorable Supreme Court of India has also told it’s a badly drafted law, then why is Deccan Chronicle promoting the use of Domestic Violence which violates Article 14, 15, 20, 21 of the Indian Constitution?
After writing about the misuse of dowry laws and domestic violence laws this is the worst incidence of Yellow journalism by Deccan Chronicle.
What are the sources of the surveys pointed to in the articles?
What is the sample data used for evaluating the surveys?
Who has reviewed the survey and data analysis?
What is the source of the above figures?
Why every survey quotes to different figures in the same time period and geography?
Why are men presented in poor light when a woman can also subject another woman to domestic violence like a daughter – in – law harassing her mother – in – law?
“What is even more worrying is that only one in three women (29 per cent) who has experienced violence has sought help. More than half (57 per cent) of those who are abused have neither complained nor tried to end it. This obviously gives men a freer hand to dole out physical abuse.”
“A report of the National Family Health Survey says 63 per cent of men in the
state feel wife beating is justified under some circumstances.”
On the other hand, when every year 56, 000 married men are committing suicide due to torture by their wives and in – laws, why there is no men’s welfare ministry?
And why is Deccan Chronicle promoting female foetecide in the society by projecting women as victims? Does it not have any social responsibility?
